What this site records

Page visits

When you load a page, the site records which page, the site that linked you here (its address without any query string), an approximate location (country, region and city, from Vercel's IP lookup), your device type, browser and operating system, and the time. Downloads of the resume are counted the same way.

Your IP address is not stored. It's combined with the date and a secret and turned into a one-way code that changes every day, which lets the site count unique visitors per day without keeping your IP or recognizing you on a later day.

The chat

Questions you ask the chat, and the answers it gives, are saved along with the approximate location above, so Brody can see what people ask and improve the bot. Questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the answer. Please don't type anything personal or sensitive into it.

The chat stores a small cookie that counts how many questions you've asked today, so it can enforce the daily limit.

What the site doesn't do

There are no advertising or third-party tracking scripts, nothing is sold or shared for marketing, and visits aren't tied to your identity. The light or dark theme you pick is remembered in your own browser only.

Where it's kept

The site runs on Vercel and the visit and chat records are stored in a Supabase database that only Brody can access. To have your chat questions deleted, or with any question about this page, email brodyeckretz@gmail.com.
